Background

SYSCOM, which has supported numerous IT infrastructures for the US branches of Japan’s largest financial group in the past, has been assigned to conduct program management oversight for an ongoing data center consolidation project for a period of 1-2 years.

[Role]
・Develop detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) using Microsoft Projects, manage effective communication with engineers, senior PMs, and end-users via Teams. Manage each deliverable meticulously to ensure switch and UPS replacements are completed on time, meeting quality assurance standards in off-site hardware replacement projects.
・Responsible for requirements gathering, estimation assistance, communication with stakeholders, and order processing in IBM server replacement projects.
・Remotely manage scheduling and communication of cabling services in a factory expansion project in another state.

・3 years of experience as a project manager
・Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
・Project management methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, Scrum
・Tools: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio, Teams, Adobe Creative Suite
・Languages: English (native), Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin)

・Projects include server (physical & virtual) deployment/upgrades, network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, IPv4 phones), and collaboration tools (WebEx, video conferencing) installation.
・Daily tasks include tracking project progress (schedule, budget, resources) and reporting to PMO, SME and stakeholder reviews, internal memo approvals, user training, etc.
